” The increasing number of Turkish television and film dramas has led to a rise of new business opportunities and encouraged well-established entrepreneurs to launch previously unthinkable new investments.
Some companies have started constructing modern film studios to provide setting infrastructure for TV shows, with the Özyurt Group making an exact replica of the famous Dolmabahçe Palace in their studio complex for the movie “Mahpeyker.”
Özyurt Group board member Rüstem Metin Yurttaş said they had accelerated investments to provide the best service for Turkey’s film and television industry, which is worth 2 billion Turkish Liras.
“We saw demand increase for our studios and even our storage both domestically and internationally. As the film industry has raised its standards, the need for studios and suitable outdoor sets for filming has increased. Earlier, we looked ahead and purchased land in the Gebze region [in the Marmara province of Kocaeli],”
The group also has multifunctional logistics storage, factory buildings, food production, storage facilities and film studios of between 1,000 and 15,000 square meters that they have rented for $5 to $7 per square meter.
“We offer storage service for foreign and domestic companies. By providing such a vital service, we are satiating our soul’s entrepreneurial hunger.”
Dolmabahçe Palace is in Istanbul, on the European side of the Bosporus. It served as the main administrative center of the Ottoman Empire from 1856 to 1922. Its design is renowned for its eclectic elements from the Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical styles, blended with traditional Ottoman architecture.
Mehpeyker Sultan, also known as Kösem Sultan, was famously the most powerful woman in Ottoman history. She was the favorite concubine of Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I (r. 1603-1617), and she achieved great power and influenced the course of the Ottoman empire through Sultan Ahmet I, her sons as well as her grandson.”
